TeleNotch is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app operates entirely on your device with no mandatory cloud services, no accounts, and no tracking.
We do not collect any personal data. TeleNotch does not transmit any information to our servers. All scripts, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your Mac.
TeleNotch requests microphone access for the voice-activated scrolling feature. Audio is processed locally using Apple's Speech framework (on-device) or sent to OpenAI if you explicitly configure the OpenAI Realtime engine. We never access, store, or transmit your audio data.
If you choose to use the OpenAI Realtime voice engine, audio is sent directly from your device to OpenAI's servers using your own API key. We do not proxy, intercept, or store this data. Your API key is stored securely in the macOS Keychain. Please review OpenAI's privacy policy for their data handling practices.
Scripts are saved in your Application Support folder. Settings are stored in UserDefaults. API keys use the macOS Keychain. All data remains on your device.
The remote control feature uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework to communicate with companion devices on your local network. No data leaves your local network, and connections are device-to-device only.
