Can Landmark Identifier recognize a building or monument from a photo?

It can suggest a likely place from visible architecture, structure, signage, surroundings, and optional location context. Similar buildings, partial views, and poor lighting can cause mistakes.

Does the app use my location?

If permission or photo metadata provides coordinates, the app includes those coordinates in the AI request to improve the match and can save them with the discovery. Location is not required and permission can be revoked in iOS Settings.

Are opening hours, fees, and accessibility details current?

Not necessarily. Those fields are AI-generated reference suggestions and can be outdated or wrong. Verify current hours, prices, closures, access, restrictions, and safety information with the official site or local authority.

Q: Where are saved landmarks stored?

Saved photos, result details, and optional coordinates are stored in the app and may sync through your private Apple iCloud account when available.

Summary

Landmark Identifier sends information off your device only when needed for features you choose or to operate, secure, and improve the app. Ideas All Day Ltd does not sell your photos, prompts, saved records, or location, and the app does not use personalized advertising.

AI processing

When you request an AI feature, the app sends the landmark photo you select, a generated analysis instruction, and—when location permission or photo metadata provides it—the photo coordinates used to improve the likely match through a developer-operated AIProxy service to Anthropic. A DeviceCheck token may be attached to help validate genuine app requests and prevent abuse.

The proxy records limited operational metadata such as request time, provider and model, request and response sizes, token usage, status, response time, IP address, and an error category. It is not designed to store image, prompt, chat, or response bodies in analytics logs. Operational records are generally removed after approximately 60 days; short-lived DeviceCheck replay records are generally removed after approximately 24 hours. Security records may be retained longer when needed to investigate abuse or comply with law.

Anthropic processes submitted content under the developer account configuration and its applicable commercial terms and privacy practices. Do not submit images or text containing unrelated personal, confidential, or legally sensitive information.

Saved data and iCloud

Selected photos, likely landmark details, and optional coordinates are stored in the app and may sync through your private Apple iCloud account when iCloud is available and enabled.

Optional location

For camera photos, the app can include your current precise coordinates in the AI request and save them with the discovery. For library photos, it can use embedded photo coordinates in the same way. Location is optional; you can deny or revoke permission in iOS Settings and remove location metadata from photos before selecting them.

Analytics, purchases, and feedback

Aptabase receives limited content-free product events such as app launches, feature use, counts, and success or failure categories. Photos, precise location, species or item names, chat text, AI responses, feedback text, and raw errors are not intentionally included.
Apple processes downloads, purchases, subscription management, review prompts, DeviceCheck, and iCloud data under Apple's policies.
Superwall processes technical, paywall, purchase, and subscription information needed to present offers and determine access.
FeaturePortal processes feature requests, votes, comments, and technical information only when you open or use that interface. Support email is processed by your email provider.

Accuracy and safety

A photo match and its visitor information can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Verify current hours, fees, closures, accessibility, transport, restrictions, and safety guidance with the landmark’s official source or local authority.

Retention, deletion, and choices

Delete individual landmark records in the app. You can also remove local app data by deleting the app and manage any remaining Landmark Identifier data through Apple iCloud settings.

Third-party services may retain limited operational, purchase, analytics, or support records under their own policies, backups, security requirements, and legal obligations. You can revoke camera, photo-library, and location permissions in iOS Settings and manage subscriptions through your Apple Account.

This public page is separate from the app. Vercel hosts the website and may process ordinary request information needed to deliver, secure, and diagnose the site. The website does not add an advertising network.

Children, security, and changes

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We use reasonable safeguards, but no transmission or storage system is completely secure. This policy may be updated when the app, providers, or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the current version.
