Better Parent Privacy Policy

Summary
Better Parent is local-first. You can use its core journal without an account. If you choose account, family-sharing, AI, voice, astrology, purchase, or support features, the specific data required for that feature is processed as described below. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information stored on your device
The app can store journal text, emotions, reactions, reminders, family-member names and roles, birth dates, optional birth times and locations, generated reflections, and app preferences in its private app container. A journal entry marked private is excluded from family sharing. It may still be transmitted if you deliberately select an AI or voice-processing feature for that entry.
Optional account and family sync
If you sign in, Firebase Authentication processes account identifiers and authentication information. Better Parent's authenticated service can process profile, family, family-member, invite-code, and non-private journal data to provide backup and partner sharing. Requests are authenticated and scoped to the family associated with the signed-in account.
AI, voice, and astrology features
When you request an AI journal analysis or guidance response, the selected journal context is sent through our controlled AI gateway to the configured model provider. When you request voice processing, the chosen recording is transmitted for transcription and structured extraction. Astrology features send birth date, optional birth time, and coordinates to the ephemeris service needed to calculate the requested chart. Do not use these optional features with information you do not want processed remotely.
Subscriptions and product services
Apple processes App Store downloads and purchases. Superwall may receive purchase-screen interaction and entitlement information used to present and manage offers. FeaturePortal receives information you choose to submit when sending feedback or feature requests. These services operate under their own policies.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app, subject to device backups. Cloud information is retained while needed to provide optional sync and account features. To request account and cloud-data deletion, email support@ideasallday.com from the address linked to your account. We may need to verify the request before deleting data and will retain only information required by law, fraud prevention, or financial-record obligations.
Security
We use authenticated transport and access controls intended to protect synced data. No system is guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Protect device access, avoid sharing invite codes publicly, and do not send journal exports or authentication material in ordinary support email.
Children and family information
Better Parent is intended for parents and guardians, not for independent use by children. Adults are responsible for the family information they enter and share. We do not use child or family information for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
Website and support
Website hosting may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and protect these pages. If you contact support, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond. Do not include sensitive journal or child information unless it is necessary and requested.
