Privacy Policy

Overview

Animal Identifier is provided by Ideas All Day Ltd. The app uses a photo to produce an AI-generated species suggestion, stores results you keep, and offers optional follow-up questions. We do not sell personal data or use advertising trackers.

Photos and AI requests

When you request an identification, the app compresses the selected photo and sends it, together with an instruction, through AIProxy to Anthropic. When you ask a follow-up question, the question, prior chat messages, and relevant details from the saved animal are sent through the same service so a response can be generated.

These providers may process technical request information such as IP address, request timing, and service telemetry needed to operate and protect their systems. Their processing and retention are governed by the applicable service configuration and their privacy terms. Do not submit photos or questions containing sensitive personal information.

Saved collection and iCloud

Photos, identification details, and chat history that you keep are stored in the app's local database. If iCloud is available for Animal Identifier, Apple may sync that collection through your private iCloud account so it appears on your devices. Ideas All Day does not operate a database that lets us browse your saved collection.

Product analytics

We use Aptabase for limited product analytics, including feature-use events, message length, credit count, and broad success or error categories. We do not send the selected photo, animal name, question text, feedback text, or AI response to Aptabase. Analytics is used to understand reliability and product usage, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Subscriptions, product prompts, and Apple services

Superwall supports paywall and subscription experiences. FeaturePortal supports optional feature prompts and roadmap views. Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, subscription state, ratings, diagnostics, and iCloud sync according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Feedback and support

Feedback and feature-request text remains on your device until you choose to continue in Mail and send the prepared message. If you send it, we receive the email address, message, and any other information you include and use it to respond or improve the product. FeaturePortal submissions are optional and are processed under that provider's terms.

Permissions

Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose to capture or select an image. You can change permissions in iOS Settings. The app does not request continuous or background location.

Your choices and deletion

Delete individual saved animals and their chat history in the app.
Manage or disable iCloud for the app in your Apple account settings.
Manage subscriptions through Apple.
Avoid optional feedback, feature-request, and support channels.
Delete the app to remove its local data from the device.

Children

The app is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal information. Parents and guardians should supervise use and ensure that children do not submit personal information in photos, questions, or support messages.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the relevant version is released. The effective date above identifies the current revision.
